The Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condor was originally developed as a long-haul civil airliner and set a record on the Berlin-New York route in 1938. During the Second World War it was converted into a maritime reconnaissance aircraft and bomber. The C-5/C-8 version had increased armament and modernized electronics, making it an effective long-range reconnaissance aircraft.
